| My "First Triathlon" Story: Now I'm Hooked
Needless to say when I finished I was estatic. At the awards dinner I expected a medal for my 3rd place finish. The full distance (olympic distance) atletes all got medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in each age category, but the sprint awards were anly given to the overall winners. This was a major bummer. However I am now hooked and am looking forward to the next event. Carolyn from Newfoundland, Canada

I just finished my first sprint triathalon. I was super happy
to finish 3rd in my age category despite a back injury 4 weeks before, a bad
cold the week before the race and going the wrong way right before the
finish line.
