| Knowing When to Invest in the Sport
Seth S. from Pennsylvania ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We always recommend that first-timers wait until after they've competed in one or two triathlons before they invest their hard-earned money into the sport. You may decide you love it and sink a couple thousand into a top of the line bike; you may decide that tris aren't your thing and climb Mount Everest. Only time will tell. We agree that you should use the road tires on the mountain bike. Be sure to train with them on -- not just throw them on the day of the race. It's never a good idea to start anything new on the day of the race. Be well, TriathaNewbie.com staff
